Boo bloody hoo. Deal with it.

So, this morning as I was going through my all-time favourite news publication, the classy, sober, completely accurate Times of India (*sputter*cough*choke*gag*), I came across an unbelievably silly article on a page titled 'View From Venus' (clenching fists and gritting teeth) that brought tears to my eyes and melted my heart.

I lie. Nothing of the sort happened. If anything, it merely induced another episode of me rolling my eyes heavenwards which is so often the case when I read this shite daily.

Anyway. Let me put down the intro para of this fascinating article.
"Young, single men are fed up with being typecast as immature, insensitive and sex-obsessed, with a survey finding that the majority believe in having a soulmate, aren't scared of commitment, and say real man can cry."
.....
Well, boo hoo.
Jeez Loiuse. Can I throw up now?
Vot, men? We think it's true. Make us believe it isn't. Go on then. Go on.

The source of these gems of wisdom was an online poll on AskMen.com.
Let me take my milk and cookies and retreat to the TV room as I cackle over another amusing Sunday morning.
(And let me think about real men crying, finding soulmates and shying away from even thinking about other women as they gaze lovingly at their one and onlys. Tee hee.)

Haaaaaaahaaahaaaaa. Men are fed up, it seems. Guaaahahahhaaaahaaaaa....

What's the point of this post? It was an online poll! How do you know it wasn't some 12 year old taking the poll?

Having said that, what is so immature about a single guy? *ponders*

Also...stop hating men. How will you EVER be wooed? How? Nonsense.

Let me state at the beginning that this post was not a "Sigh-I-wisht-I-could-bag-a-good-one." That issue has been dealt with conclusi=vely in an earlier post.

Calm down, young man. No need to get all riled up.

1. Point of this post: TOI sucks, and young, single men do not impress us, the current lot of wimmin.

2. 'It was an online poll!': Exactly. It was an online poll. Whee. (70,000 people answered. I'm sure some of them were not 12-year-old.)

3. Having said that, what answer does one choose on a multiple choice personality type questionnaire? The 'best' answer. ;) Online polls are so kyoot.

4. 'What is so immature about a single guy?': Nothing wrong with single men. Lot to be asked for in the current young ones though.

which makes one wonder if older men are better.

rumour says "no"..."hell..NO!"..."rolling on the floor with tears streaming down the cheeks, NO!"

older men, it turns out, are just younger men in wrinklier and tired skin.

Thanks for linking that earlier post which in my opinion is just good for your blog. You know how they say never say never, no? Well.

haha

Name one newspaper which does not suck. Or any media channel for that matter.

Okay maybe not all the poll takers were 12. 90% were in the age group of 18-20. Agreed?

Plij to be telling us what lot is to be asked of the current young men? I'm thinking you're talking about the 25-30 year old single men...Please tell. I will take pointers like anything and then use them against you moooahahaha.

Never it seems.

Like I thought I'd NEVER get out of school or put on weight. Ahem.

In conclusion...there is a lot to be asked of YOU nubile women actually. haha

Jellicles: Gaaak! This does not bode well. Which is why my mens are out.
Immediate plans in life are to save money, get nice sunshiny and airy digs (conducive to humans and cats), adopt human children and feline childruns and grow old with them. And TV and books and music.
(Also want nice 4-burner stove with big oven.)

Or you could consider a younger man Sabbah. haha

I heard they are really smart and mature etc. But not all younger men. I mean the ones just one year younger than thou. :)

No? Never? Who is being unreasonably immature now? huh huh?

Give it up Pretty Skinny

Ah! well, longblackveil, what can I say but sour grapes? -AR

How men, Anon? How sour grapes? Tell, no... ;)

I guess what Anonymous means is that according to him/her this is a classic case of sour grapes, in it that you don't have a man in your life who is capable of crying and so you're pissed off, because you need a man who cries.

hahahahahahha. Some people I tell you...gone cases only. Not me though. No.

Not the crying part. The soulmate part, the commitment part. Maybe she did get a grape, maybe it really was sour. - AR

She does, actually, desperately want a man who cries. Especially since she really wants us men to prove that we aren't sensitive, immature, etc, and wants us to "Make us believe it isn't. Go on then. Go on." (she asks not once, but thrice!) She goes on to mention that "young, single men do not impress us, the current lot of wimmin" Huh? So what would you prefer, old, balding, obese, middle-aged, married men? Ooh, the grapes have practically turned into wine, I say. Girls are so cynical, missy, and this exemplary trait ain't gonna get you nowhere.

Oh, lordie.
AR Anon: Thanks for sharing.
One point: On MY blog, don't third person me.... *sinister music to fade*

Dear Anonymouse, (yes sic only)
You have missed the point of the post. I think it is more to do with ridiculing the content of a popular newspaper than to rant.

Further, who are you? longblackveil's bum pal? I'm supposing you don't know her so your analysis can be best termed as...hmmmmmm...I don't think there's a word for those kind of grapes. haha. It seems someone ditched you for a bald man? oooshi

Haha..TOI sucks, really!

Coming to single men, yeah they dont really attract women. I guess they think those men must be some way not in 'demand'. LOL. A frnd of mine said that.

Nice post, i'm never disappointed visiting your blog any time. :)
